Rossi's study is not a book about great discoveries in color science, at least not on the part of Americans. With the possible exception of Christine Lad Franklin, Americans are not really players in the field of color science or physiological optics. But they're real enthusiasts of the possibilities of color science for thinking about a modernizing society.
