The Association of Social Isolation With Disability, One Year Mortality

The study looked at the association of social isolation with disability burden, one year mortality among older adults with critical illness. For each point that these people scored on this social isolation a scale within the n h a t s, there is an increased risk that they are going to die within the next year. So those that were more socially isolated were more likely to have some type of disability.
