The Poisonous Roots of the Nuba Mountains

Once these people were in the Nuba Mountains, I'm talking the actual mountains, they were without food. And so what they did is they initially existed on the little food that they brought up with them. They would eat any and all fruit, whether it was poisonous or not. The amazing thing was they did end up eating a lot of poisonous roots and fruits and leaves - even though they tried to bleach out the poison,. It did have an ill impact on a lot of the elderly and babies who died terrible death as a result of this.
