Carol Costello: We got assessment data and genetic information from almost 500 sex addicts that were in inpatient treatment programs in the United States. "We refer to that sort of tongue in cheek as the data from 45 real white guys patient programs," she says. The research is going to be a significant piece in pushing the diagnosis into the DSM, Costello adds.
