The Disunity of Science and Non Science
If linguistics fits all the conditions of a science, I'm happy to call it a science. This does not mean everything becomes a science rather that all the sciences have their own rigorous systematic ways of going about knowledge. To quote Dudley Shapiro's famous phrase, we learn how to learn, but I would only add to that in different domains that turns out to look different. Of course, one can just speak nonsense about any subject matter and they should be given a degree of autonomy.
