Donald Trump's Ban on Muslims Entering the United States Is Animated by Hostility to Muslims and Religious Discrimination
Adam Liptak writes about the law for the New York Times. The basic idea was that President Trump and his allies and supporters have said so many things about wanting to bar Muslims, he says. So what you have on the one hand is a piece of paper that on its face looks fine. But because of all the statements and during the campaign and afterwards, the courts look behind what's on the face of the piece of paper to find religious discrimination.
