Is Slavery an Institution That Should Be Abandoned?

Most Muslims would say this is the Muslim perfectionist history coming in again, that there was no injustice. But I suppose what an ISIS ideology would say would be that actually this notion that slavery is evil as an institution and should be abolished is a Western idea that has infected Islam. And because slavery became something about mass exploitation. That's why most Muslims and others disagree with them.
