The Rise of Minimalist Art in the US

I feel like for a lot of people, they identify with a Thoreau-like version of minimalism because it feels a little more secular. I think I would talk about where minimalism literally comes from, which is the minimalist artists in the 1960s in New York. And I think those minimalist artists, even though they didn't agree with the label of minimalism, were making a virtue out of simplicity.
