How to Treat a Guillotine Injuries
Sterile saline soaked dressing should be placed on the wound. Removal of gross debris should be performed without removal of bone fragments. Irrigation and abreentment with temporary fracture stabilization, local antibiotic administration, and soft tissue coverage should then follow. There is little evidence to support aggressive irrigation or irrigation with antiseptic solution in the emergency department.
