The Future of the Chicago City Council

The number of city council members signed up to both those who identify as socialists and those who are more progressive types has grown immensely over the years. The Chicago Teachers Union hasn't just gone on strike and spoken out against things like school closings and gentrification and police violence. They've also been one of the central institutions along with other labor unions and progressive minded community groups that started the United Working Families, which is the kind of political arm of this movement.
