The Importance of Analogy in Cognitive Science

In the cognitive sciences and in philosophy of science, everybody looks at analogy as you have a particular problem that was solved. In these fields, there are no ready to hand analogies. They're doing something that's never been done before. By and large, they have to build the analogical sources to address the data. So, we have two unknowns, and so, most of the research focuses on figuring out what this model is, what it's doing, and how it relates to the real-world system.
