The First Multi Party Elections in Slovania

Following the collapse of the communist party of yugoslavia, really in january 19 90, then slavinian party leadership agrees to hold multi party elections. So it's a kind of some sort of compromise between the communists and various lberals and democrats and nationalists. Two years before, in 19 87, there is really a change of government in serbia, which is still communist, but now increasingly borrows from nationalist rhetoric. And so once this new government is formed in slovania, they promise that they will hold a referandum on independence by the end of the year, which is what they do in december.
