The Adventures of Burton and Speak
Burton and Poor speak were on a two-year expedition to the east African continent. They traveled thousands of miles using donkeys, hired porters and sometimes attacked by locals. Burton had malaria so severe that he was paralyzed for almost a year. The men also suffered from eye diseases which left them blinded for months at a time.
