What Is the Subconscious?

I think it is so interesting, especially around sort of how unwilling we often are to recognize the sort of sexuality of children. There's a repressive moment in which all of this real early, intense, bodily sexuality of the child is actually repressed in us. We have to put our memories somewhere and those memories themselves are like condensed versions of a massive amount of experience as a human being. And that's somewhere Freud called the unconscious. I mean, the unconscious reveals itself and its logic reveals itself. Its logic is very different from the logic by which we operate consciously.
