The Importance of Secondary Sources in African American Studies

In African American studies one sees these patterns through connecting past practices to current practices the way institutions carried forward values and ways of doing things that created functional exclusions. In some states students can opt into more contemporary material in other states, they cannot. Secondary sources are not just sources from a distance there specifically sources that actually introduced the concepts and frameworks and theories that make sense of the facts.
