If Europe because of their position there in dire straits could take advantage of that and invest in some kind of research like the Manhattan Project that they did in the United States. You'd have your own energy and you wouldn't have to depend on anybody. And may well yet before we're able to reach this energy Valhalla you describe destroyed the rest of us.
