The Relationship Between Love and the Ego

I think he thinks genuine love doesn't Doesn't affirm the ego. It actually undermines the ego. I wonder if everybody doesn't go through a period where you think this, like I remember I was in graduate school and I'm like I'm never gonna tell anyone that I love them ever again because it no one ever thinks it. That's probably too sweet of a reading for it to be true, but um, yeah I think we call that a lie.
