The Impact of Debt on People's Lives
Country with high debt repayments are likely to be cutting public spending a and this really has a real impact on people's lives. We did some research last year which showed that the republic of congo had seen huge cuts in public spending of well over 50 %. And so i think this is essentially how, you know, how debt operates. In that sense, it strips the ability of countries to invest in th things that really matter, things like health and education. Instead, an prioritizes repayments to creditors at the expense of these basic human rights.
