The speedy trial act requires that starting at indictment, the clock begins and all cases must be brought to trial within 70 days. Donald Trump's team is going to file any number of motions to throw this case out entirely. The New York courts are much more clogged. They take longer to get to trial but in federal court, they move very quickly.
