Keeping the Mortgage Open Makes It Easier to Buy an Investment Property
If you're paying that mortgage down there's nothing stopping you investing so it one doesn't affect the other no. I actually spoke to somebody today who's got a loan a mortgage of say million dollars and most about he's got sitting in offset. Sometimes people want an investment property and it is better to borrow it all against the investment property but you want to know what you're doing before you go and close things off that can't be unclosed.
