Longbow men are capable of shooting a dozen, perhaps even 20, arrows every minute. As the cavalry charge utterly failed to sweep away the english archers, they were then free to turn their attention to the slow moving mass of french knights on foot. The french line becoming ragged as people desperately lunged forward to try and get to grips with these English invaders.
