I think there's a line with how heavy-handed you can actually be able to do things and whether that's productive, but something has to give. If you're always too busy to help out others, then that's not a senior engineer quality. You've got to be able to start bringing more people in. I know I personally am currently shadowing for the chair positions in contributor experience. One of the chairs there is also wearing many hats. And so that can be an intimidating thing for shadows,. So yeah, I think people are too much and if you're doing too much, then you should be looking at how can I reduce that steering.
