There is a role for science policy, energy policy in enabling or protecting that level of r and d between ideas in the lab and m you know, something that's strong enough to stand on its own feet. I think basic research is now, there are many, many reasons to keep basic research alive. Am, unfortunately, it hasn't been killed yet.
