From 1471 to early 1472, Caxton takes a trip to Cologne. There he finds himself for the first time in a city where there are printed books with a printing press. It's really a kind of second career, a kind of new avenue and it may have been driven by necessity. But perhaps it was also opportunity and a desire to do this.
