The LA Times had gone through a bitter labral struggle in the early 1900s. The Chandler family remained pretty anti-union throughout the years. James Davis founded the red squad which is ACLU claims was the most lawless and brutal police squad in the country. He once said communists have no constitutional rights and I won't listen to anyone who defends.
