At the end of May, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a cost of living support package. For people around the country who were finding things really hard, there was a collective sigh of relief. But then events inside Westminster itself seemed to take over. A party and Parliament determined to force him out. It is clearly now the will of the Parliamentary Conservative Party. We have decided that the £200 of support for household energy bills will be doubled to £400 for everyone. From the first of October, a typical household will pay no more than £2,500 per year for each of the next two years. And a few weeks later, the new Chancellor held his much-anticipated mini-budget
