A Debate: Do Plants Have Sensation?

Thomas Aquinas College Lectures & Talks

Sensing Plants

Plants do not need sense perception to see or grow. Sensing can be drawn from the fact that cells within the body need to respond appropriately to the internal environment, which is largely constituted by other cells. It seems arbitrary to say that they are not sensing simply because their receptor ligan interactions and detection of mechanical forces are internal to the body. A reduction to the absurd against plant sensing. Theres no evidence that plants need to sense wetness.
