The 14th Century Food Laws
We are now in 40th century England when as you'll know King Edward the third was in power. Now what's crucial about this time is it was a time when England was basically trying to get a grip on its resources ahead of an upcoming war against France. And one of the ways that they did this were laws which impacted the way people's lived and the way that they spent their money. The key one that started all was in 1336 when the king issued a decree which banned people eating more than two courses in any meal. So it was illegal to eat three courses.
