The Conservative Backlash to LGBTQ Plus Companies
The start of Pride Month comes amid conservative backlash to companies that market to the LGBTQ plus community. Tom Timprano, managing director of external affairs from Equality California: "It is good for business" La Tisa Miranda, a U.S. retail and consumer columnist for Bloomberg says there may be momentary dips in sales when these big sort of right wing extremist boycotts reach a boiling point. But research by GLAD actually shows that if a brand publicly supports and demonstrates a commitment to expand expanding and protecting rights for LGBTQ plus people, Americans are two times more likely to buy or use that brand.
