Elizabeth peradovitch was instrumental in getting alaska's first anti discrimination law passed. She testified against the bill, asking whether it would actually end discrimination. Elizabeth went on to become a member of the executive committee of the national congress of american indians and later died from cancer at forty seven years old. Tneighty eight has been established as elizabethperadovitch day to celebrate her life and civil rights legacy.
