The Importance of Discovery in Archaeology
I'm sure any archaeologist listening and yourself would agree that archaeology itself these days is not necessarily the story of discoveries. I think one of the latest lessons that archaeology has had to learn, and it's really only learnt this in the last couple of decades, is the need to be constantly and continually involved in that bigger public dialogue. And to be part of that dialogue, rather than to think that its job is done when it's published.
