Every system that we interact with on a day-to-day level can either protect a victim survivor or perpetuate the abuse of their perpetrator. There is not even close to an adequate understanding of coercive control, what it looks like and how victims behave when they're under coercion. The courts are hamstrung to a certain degree in the sense that they only deal with evidence that's put in front of them. But I would say that in some areas, especially in specialist family violence courts, we have remarkable judges. And we also have judges more and more who are women,. Not to say female judges are necessarily like it mean that they respond to domestic violence. That is not an acceptable justice system
