Scalability in the Early Stage Applications

In the early stage applications, it's often more important to be able to iterate quickly. So deciding a scalable system based off bad assumptions can be both wasted time and even worse kind of productive. It was really constricting to me how important the numbers and the performance metrics came in to play in all of those systems.
