Qrashchev's Thinking on the Cuban Crisis
Qrashchev viewed Kennedy as weak and therefore he could push him by putting the missiles in Cuba. He also thought that if Kennedy was weak, he would take orders from the US military industrial complex which would push him into resisting the missiles. I think this was a kind of conceptual contradiction at the heart of Qrashchev's thinking. Helps us understand why the crisis occurred but it also helps us understand why from his point of view it was really a debacle.
