Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Sony Aren't Doing Themselves Any Favors With Competition From Phones

F stoppers Walsima Mod wrote an interesting editorial this month, making the case that camera makers aren't doing themselves any favors with competition from phones when it comes to marketing. He points out that a recent Nikon and Canon press releases for new products feature a wall of text and no images or videos from the actual devices. While the camera makers often put their marketing muscle behind retail efforts though, he argues they would be better served meeting customers online where they are first.
