The Importance of Being a Shepherd

The Prophet Salaamu Alaihi Wasallam said that the people who own horses are gonna be the ones who are full of pride. The people who own sheep will be the ones full of sakina and wirkar, humility and humbleness. A shepherd inculcates certain qualities, patience, humbleness, humility, bravery, mercy, tenderness. And it is not a coincidence that later on in life our prophet was very tender towards animals because he was a shepherd. There is a whole aspect of animal rights in Islam which inshaAllah maybe one day we'll give a talk about animal rights inIslam.
