Indian Women's Suffrage Movement
Indian women were only granted the vote if they owned property in their own right. This was because of inheritance laws in india, which prevented women from inheriting property from their parents or husbands. There are also restrictions in britain based on age and on resodency qualifications. So offering women the vote is a way of winning them over to te nationalist cause.
