There are people in Canada today who say that the fact is that some people severely disabled with different kinds of conditions, which are really giving their life enormous pain and difficulty. They turn to assisted dying simply because the healthcare and economic situation they are living in in Canada today is not able to improve their lives to a point where life would be endurable. But if those things don't exist, we can't hold individuals hostage to society's failings. We need to do better in housing, in income stability. All of these things are real problems.
