The Positive Motivation of CHIPS
The US CHIPS Act has some of the, what we know from the literature on that successful industrial policy. Is it because the power of fossil capital worked differently in these two different spaces? And also perhaps that the positive motivation of geoeconomic and geopolitical conflict with China depressingly seems to be the sort of motivation that can overcome almost any obstacle in American politics. Dan: One thing that's really important about CHIPS is that it activated the corporate concentration anxiety on the left in a much more intense way than IRA did.
