Introduction
The US incidence of adult dysplasia of the hip is 3-5% and it's estimated that 10% of all total hip arthroplasties are performed as a result of dysplasia. In terms of demographics, females are more affected than males and there's actually a 2-4 times relative risk increase. Treatment typically involves periacetabular osteotomies for those with concentrically reduced hips with congruous joint space or total hipArthroplasty for those presenting with end stage osteoarthritis.
