The Evolution of Language Learning
When Latin was a spoken language, the everyone learned it by speaking to each other and it was learned as an oral language. The reason for grammar books was in order to teach people who could already speak grammar to get really precise in their understanding of what was being expressed. And then when Latin very quickly stopped being very suddenly stopped being a spoken language,. these were the only books that remained. These grammar books that had been intended for advanced Latin speakers to turn them into great translators - so we carried on doing it. But actually, if you look at the correlation between explicitly learned grammar and so grammar that you have an explicit knowledge of and grammar that I have acquired, I are able to use
