In both cases, it looks like Democrats and Republicans were exercising free speech. It wasn't illegal. It was all transparent. But what did Trump do that was that different? Was he plotting? Is that different? And if you're plotting to do something that you have an expert tells you is probably legal? I'm pretty sure that Trump didn't do anything without at least one lawyer who may or may not be right.
