Women's Health Strategy for England

Female teachers are 40% more likely than other women to contract mesothelioma. The disease is a terminal lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Figures from the HSE show that those working in buildings such as schools and hospitals, which would be teachers and nurses, predominantly women, are disproportionately affectedby the disease. Women's Health Strategy for England has introduced an ambitious programme of work with NHS to improve menopause care.
