The Myths of the Southern Strategy
Some myths have been spread by people who otherwise seem to be well-meaning. Others have been I think quite malicious. The Southern strategy used to just be kind of a common fact about the Republican appeal to segregationist in the 1960s. Woodrow Wilson, who was a president of Princeton as well as being the president of the United States, had bought into this stuff hook line and sinker.
