Woodgrain Texture: Looking Back at the Past Fondly
Steve Jobs wanted more texture in the background of his iPhone apps. Steve was famously stubborn but he knew when to move on, even if it might have taken him longer. Even if we don't miss rich textures and skeuomorphs, it's still sad to see a part of Steve go. And as for iOS 7's new design style, letting a button be a button super thin text, well, that's a story for another time.
