The Face Maker by Theac Gillies
Gillies wasn't the only surgeon operating on faces in this period. He also brought in artists, photographers, radiographers and mass makers that all worked towards rebuilding a soldier's face. The masks were non surgical solutions presented by artists like the sculptor anna coleman lad. And they're beautiful. They're exquisite. But one of the things you have to remember is that they're worn for the comfort of the viewer.
