The Book of Revelation Is a Mix of Preterism, Futurism, Idealism
The idea of inaugurated eschatology is what most of the modern academy believes and upholds. The kingdom, or the age to come, or the resurrection, in some spiritual way, has already happened. Some commentators have tried to situate interpreting revelation within a native jewish apocalyptic context. It's probably one of the best commentaries that i've found on the book of revelation.
