The Battle of Savastopol
About 620 cavalrymen took part in five regiments. They galloped from about 250 yards out, which is a very long distance. It was probably the last great cavalry charge in a full-scale battle between major military powers. The Russians never again came out on horseback to challenge the British despite having far more cavalrymen.
