The Anatomy of Distal Radius Fractures
The distal radius is responsible for 80 % of axial load. Scapho lunat ligament injury is seen in 30% of patients, and luno triqueta ligament injuries are seen in 15%. The history is usually a on an outstretched hand. Symptoms include wrist pain, wrist swelling and wrist deformity. Indications for this include extra articular fractures with close reduction or open fixation.
