Protests in China - What's Happening?
China is not a place which tolerates dissent and imputinate mildly. Protests are swiftly and often violently ended. The state exerts the same level of control over the internet as it does those with a positive COVID test. But what we're seeing at the moment is that this almost seems spontaneous. People are messaging each other saying we're going out of the streets in Shanghai.
